DH went to a dealership and I checked his scores the day before and they had gone up.
TU is now 648 and EQ is 623. So when we get to the dealership they pulled his credit and said these are your scores. EQ 608 and TU 603. He has never had an auto loan.
I then had to take over and say, "No sir these are my husband FICO scores right here." The sales person was like ppl come in here all the time and think there scores are one thing and they are completely another.
Why does this happen? Do you guys think they pulled auto-enhanced? Do they pull lower scores to have you pay higher interest?
We are now going through a CU. I'm just curious.
i think auto dealerships are automatically getting auto enhanced scores, even if they don't know it.
It was almost certainly an auto-enhanced score the dealership pulled. If he has never had an auto loan, it'll pull lower than a regular Fico score, as auto loans are more heavily weighted and he has no auto loan history.
