Question about reporting time at employer for auto loan

I was curious if anyone knew whether I can essentially add periods of employment with the same organization together when filling out an online app?

I am returning to an employer with which I have 3 years with but I left for several years to attend school. I am returning to the same employer now that I've graduated but won't get a first paycheck for about 3 weeks.

Can I count my previous time with them? I have to get a car for the job and would like to avoid putting 0 months of time at employer.

Thanks!

I think it would be a material misrepresentation if you did that.  So, no, imo.

Thanks for the response. I asked my credit union before applying and they were ok with it since I left to go to law school and am now returning to the same employer as an attorney.   I wasn't sure because the application says "time with employer." Technically, I have three years with the employer and am picking up from there just with a new title and salary.

If for some reason the CU denies me, I'll make sure to clear it with any other loan/finance officer before just putting it down if I apply elsewhere.
