Okay Here is my update. I was pre-approved on the spot for a $15000 loan at ESL Federal Credit Union at 72 months 4.5 %. Went to the dealership tonight and they must really get an incentive to do the financing because they sort of pushed it. The finance person is convinced they can get me a loan for about 13,500 (what I am actually borrowing after putting down a down payment) at 3.5% Said that pulling my credit may drop it by a few points but should go back up in a couple of months if I actually buy a car, and nothing else crazy happens...I'll let you know if they get it. Since my credit score is 716 they said ESL usually does instant approval. When I went into the bank this morning the person I spoke to called and said "this is the guy that'll know" so that's what happened and should if the finance person puts it through. i will say I was super impressed with ESL customer service, as she picked up the phone, 100% more effort than the person at M and T put in for me, then the bad advice to close out credit cards....I will be paying them off shortly too.
Just curious, what are those numbers etc, at then of people's posts?
