RBFCU Auto loan refinance - Denied

Data:

State: TX

TU: 701

Over 150k reported income

Loan amount: 123xx.00

Nada value: 135xx.00

DTI: Very low, this is my only debt

3/24, 3/12, 2/6

5 Inquiries at time of application. 4 inquiries in the last 6 months.

RBFCU experience: Opening the account was easy, it was not a hard pull. The banker was very chatty and friendly. Basically held my hand and had documents ready to be scanned to the lending department. When all the paperwork was finished, she called the lending department via their web-phone+web cam. It came back as denied. I asked the lady to see if they can reconsider she said I can have someone take a another look. After this happened, the applicaton came back as pending on the web portal.

The reconsideration process, I wasn't really a fan of. I emailed and sent SMs to RBFCU and asked them to call me but they never did. I asked the nice lady on the video conference to also have them call me back but I did  not receive a call either. I only received emails. The lending department\underwriters seem a bit impersonal and it seems to me as if they prefer only to do things on the backend. I checked the web portal and now am getting a denial.

I forgot to mention that I sent them an email stating I have today's credit reports and those lates are not on there. They asked me to send it to them and I did. I never heard any follow-up based on that other than my application went to denial after that.

I have 4 lates that are showing up in 2019 although those are inaccurate and I showed proof to TU that they updated my file in error, and they removed those lates Fri\Sat. I ran my credit report today with both TU and Experian CW (For TU) and the lates on 2019 are no longer there.

I'm not sure this plays a factor but I think it did.

Lastly, RBFCU sent a secure message saying if I wanted to dispute this further, I can send snail mail to the Credit Committee address. I'm not sure I will at this point.

Re: RBFCU Auto loan refinance - Denied

I just received an email they are going to look at my attached credit report. However, they addressed the totally incorrect first name and last name. I wonder if they are even looking at the right file at this point?

Hopefully that part is user error.

I do not understand. Where you in the process of disputing the lates when you app'd? Since you knew the lates were a mistake why did you just wait until it was resolved before applying? Or did you think they were already gone based on info from TU?

Sorry for the confusion, let me clarify. The dispute was finished and TU was updated. I am unsure if what they pull is real time or not or if there is some lag between the credit agency and the lender. I did not have a previous relationship with RBFCU, so they would not have a soft pull of my record prior to this however.

  1. The lates disputed was resolved. I confirmed this by going to dispute.transunion.com.
  2. Wallethub which monitors TU daily showed alerts for each late that was fixed by going "Negative" to "Positive."
  3. I have free credit monitoring through TU which allows me to pull a report daily due to some breach. I pulled the new report and it showed the lates were no longer present and it was fixed.
  4. I pulled the 3 bureau report through Experian Credit Works. The TU report showed the lates were no longer present as opposed to the 12/1 3 bureau report.
