I'm looking to determine if I should refinance my current auto loan. First, I have no problems with the loan, pay on time, have never been late or missed a pament. That said, I was approved for the loan a while back and now my credit score is 100+ points better. My current rate is 3.44%. That seems pretty low but I have no idea if it would be lower with such an increase in my credit score. What do you think?
3.44% is a pretty good rate. Check out DCU for a 1.49-1.99 rate but that will be a hard rate to compete with.
I would go for it if I were you. Rates are around 2% depending on lender and age of your vehicle. No closing costs on auto loans so the only cost is a credit inquiry.
Could I just go to my curretn lender and and to be reviewed? I dk how it would technically work, maybe I would need to be approved for a new auto loan that would pay off the old one, I dk, but I would like to stay with them.

In my experience most lender will not refinance their own loans and most will not adjust the interest rate. That being said, it does not hurt to make a phone call.
