Refinance with DCU or NFCU ?

Hi Guys,

First of all ,thank you  to everyone who is posting in this forum .So helpful  and great!

Last month ,I bought a CPO Car  with 45K Miles for $33K but at that time credit was't good so i had to take the  6 % (which is the best they got !)

I am thinking to refinance with NFCU or DCU. Which one you think i got a better chance to get approval for 60 Months for $37K ( Current KBB Shows around 35K)  ?

I know both of them pulls EQ but unfortunately i got only 719 Smiley Frustrated. If i applied with NFCU first, Can i get away with just ONE HP for their FlagShip card and NavCheck ?

Also ,thinking to apply 2 credit cards (Probably Amex BCP and Discover IT ). DO u think it is better to apply Cards first rather than Auto?

Advices or Comments Please!

Scores : myFICO : 719 ; Fako (Credit Karma: 765 ,Credit Sesame :738;Quizzle : 619 ?) ;   Util: 21% ; Income : 90-100K;

Credit Enq: Currently i got 2 requests (from Car Dealer) on each of the three bureaus. AAOS: 3Yo ; Paid off  two Car loans ;  No Baddies and No Lates!

Thank  you

Re: Refinance with DCU or NFCU ?

Do you have at least 2-3 CCs currently that report positive history? If so, I vote new CCs after auto loan.

I'm torn on where to suggest you refi. DCU would most likely give you 1.24% (with direct deposit) for 60 months, but NFCU gives people who refi with them $250 cash. Their lowest rate seems to be 2.99% for 60 months though for used cars. Not sure if the used car rate applies to refis...call and ask maybe.

You'll have to calculate the extra interest you'll pay with NFCU, but I'm guessing that unless you are willing to re-refi the loan from NFCU to DCU in under 3 months, going with DCU from the start is the better idea. So yeah unless you want to re-refi again, I vote try DCU first.

Fantastic, I would go grab your NavCheck and the other credit cards you mentioned right now too so they can all age together.

CreditAdditct,

I did pull the trigger on other cards in the following order , this is what happened .

1.PenFed - Right off the bat , they Denied me for slate card .(I know you and all other Credit Gurus keep on telling not to pull the trigger with out 100 % clean )

2.Navy Fed - Cash Rewards- In review ( Praying god, as they don't deny me)

3.Amex -Instant Approvev for 3k.-No luck when i requested to take a look again.

4.Discover -Instant Approved 5k- No luck when i requested to take a look again.

Apoligize me to post abut Cards in this forum.
