SHOULD I DEFER CAR PAYMENTS

my car note has really killed me financially  I have 70% of the loan paid paid off. But these last few months been tough. Should I defer the payments? I'm trying to not mess up my credit

Re: SHOULD I DEFER CAR PAYMENTS

Back in the day, I was able to do this on a lease.  Actually it wasn't really a "deferral" and instead was a "change the due date" so it extended the calendar and gave me an extra 30 days.  If you're not on a lease and looking for longer than this kind of solution, I was tread lightly and share who the loan was with and your credit history.  Others can tell you their experience with X Bank if you share those details and you can always search these threads for DP's on that bank.  Frankly, outside of the lease date change I mentioned, I would suggest NO...don't do it

It's better than missing a payment, but you should still avoid it if at all possible. Eat ramen at home, cancel netflix, etc and do whatever you can to avoid deferring payments.
