Santander Auto

Years ago we hit hard times and our auto loan went delinquent with Santander(purchased in 2012, went delinquent I think in 2014).During that time we were sent a settlement letter but didn't have the funds. They never came to get the vehicle. We've tried reaching out to pay off the vehicle multiple times for a clear title and they have no records of anything. I'm not sure how this is possible since they hold the lien. We are financially able to pay it in full for a clear title. Has anyone had this happen? I spoke to our tag office today and they are still showing them as the lein holder.  We just want to make things right and have it free and clear. There is nothing on our credit reports, nothing filed in court etc.

Any advice on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Santander Auto

is it still on your credit? If its still on your credit, dispute it and see what happens. That almost always triggers a letter for some kinda of settlement from a creditor. lol

Re: Santander Auto

No it's been gone for years. Like it never existed. It's the strangest thing. It's not some old junky vehicle either. It was a brand new truck when we originally bought it.
