If a couple is applying for an auto loan will use the person with the highest or lowest credit score to determine the interest rate?
From my experience, the lowest.
I wish I could offer better news.
That is up to you, obviously choose the one with better score for the purchase as primary buyer for the best deal, a predator dealer may tell you otherwise to get more money off of you. @SSH0126
Thanks for confirming!
After my BK (DW did not file) we leased a new Infiniti and they used her as primary and went off of her scores.
Loved that that happened!
I'm glad for you.

This depends on the lender. Married applicants for some lenders will take the higher of the two scores regardless of app/co-app position but not many lenders will do this.
Some lenders will require the higher scoring applicant to be in the primary borrower position.
Some lenders will also take an alternate bureau if there is more POSITIVE trade lines on a bureau with a higher score, but again.. not many.
