So ever since we did our Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and have been discharged since Sept, We have had a vehicle we had to buy pre-discharge at a 17.18% rate and a $500 a month payment I thought we would never get re-financed. We have been trying to trade it and/or re-fi and I finally found a credit union that would take scores starting at around 580 and up even though they only pulled Equifax and our debt to ratio was low enough. I'm so happy to finally say we got approved for a 7% rate and a payment of $344 a month with the same amount of months. Our 1st payment is not due until the middle of march and we got a few points lower since we also opened up an account with the credit union (checking/savings). I never thought our scores would improve so much since filing chapt 7, This forumn has been a huge help in guiding me in the right direction to now be able to keep getting our scores higher and making sure our credit stays in good standing. I am still learning and know I have a lot more to learn. Thanks to everyone in this forumn ![]()
Ok so now I have only 1 question, when the credit union pulled my equifax report, the score differs from that listed in credit check total, in fact equifax has it a tad lower and i didn't understand that and don't really know which is accurate? I thought credit check total was suppose to be accurate? Opinions & thoughts on that?
First of all, congratulations!
I believe CCT is accurate. It depends on which FICO score the CU pulled. It could have been FICO 4, FICO 5, FICO 8 and (most unlikely) FICO 9.
Within each of theres, there's a scorecard score, an auto score and a mortgage score. They don't have to use those, but sometimes they do. In general, when I looked at everything on my scores, they were all roughly the same with the exception of the mortgage score.
Example...my scores FICO 8 scores are 589 EQ, 589 EX, 599 TU.
Let's use TU as an example.
My TU FICO 8 was 599, Mortage 560, Auto 601, and BankScore 594.
They're roughly the same.... but could drop depending on which score they pulled.
