Spouse Co-Sign or Not?

I am planning on purchasing a new car soon and would like advice on following.

My FICO 8 Auto Scores: EQ-628, TU-589, EX-611

Income - 90K

Spouse's FICO 8 Auto Scores: EQ-654, TU-657, EX-668

Income - 105K

Combined DTI is about 12%

Loan will be for about 40K (value of vehicle is 47K with 7 Down Payment)

Should I have my spouse apply on her own or would it be worth it apply with her and combine incomes?

I would like to get the loan on my reports but not if its going to give us a much higher APR.

Also, my local credit union has not been very helpful in past so will probably not consider them. Thinking about Capital One, DCU, or dealer. Any other suggestions based on our current scores/income?

thanks!

Re: Co-Sign or Not?

You will be better off applying together with her a the primary and you the secondary.  That way, they use her file and you get to have it on your reports after getting the loan.

Re: Co-Sign or Not?

I thought they took both scores into consideration, not just the primary applicant?
