I am wondering if anyone has any insight into the chances of Subaru/Chase approvals when Chase was IIB for credit cards? I know they are unforgiving for CC approval with accounts IIB but wanted to see if that also applied to their auto/captive lender products. BK7 discharged July 2017, current scores in the 650 range. I searched the boards but didn't find any good answers.
Thank you!
Well, Chase is an automatic denial for a credit card if you have a BK on your credit report, whether they were IIB or not, although they do recon when the BK is at least 7 years post discharge. I IIB'd Chase in my 2010 BK7 and tried for a Chase card last year. Instant denial and when I called for recon I thought the rep wanted to approve me but when she checked with a supervisor it was a denial - but bad timing, I had 2 new CCs within a couple months and a very recent new car loan, Chase doesn't like recent new accounts.
But yeah, there's not alot of info on card loans with a BK and IIB. My best guess is you want to wait until at least 2 years post discharge and get your score to at least 670. And how much down payment? Obviously the more down payment the better your chances.
So, I included Chase in my BK back in 2013 for a credit card. Their auto division is seperate from their CC. I have had 3 leases through chase since 2015 from Land Rover. My scores however have been in the low 700's every time I have leased.
I leased Subaru/Chase and my score was $650-60's at the time. I went in and just talked to Subaru finance dept about how they run credit, chances, etc. So just go in and talk. Rolling into a new one in July with early turn in. I just ordered the car last week.
No BK or anything, mine was more age. I was starting over.

What was the timing of the 2 new CCs and the car loan relative to when you applied for the Chase CC?
Credit card approvals are for unsecured credit, car loans are secured credit. Totally different standards apply.
