Greetings Everyone,
I am new here the forum, well I've been lurking around around for a few days now. I'm young man trying to build my credit from scratch.
Just a few weeks ago I bought my first new car through Toyota Financial Services and I've been very hesitant researching the best way to pay my monthly payments in order to get a great credit score.
The thing is that my first payment was Due Today Saturday June 30, so I made the payment Yesterday June 29 to make an early payment and also setup auto payment. To my surprise just when I sent the payment Online through their app (myTFS) I received a confirmation of payment but also a notice that my payment wasn't going to be posted until Monday June 2 due to that they don't process/post payments on weekends? I freaked out because i've been looking forward to make that payment early, as I did. I freaked even more once I seached online and found houndreds of horror stories regarding the Toyota Financial Payment System and Costumer Service. I tried calling Costumer Service Yesterday for clarification on the issue with no avail, they never answered. Also found out that they don't provide Costumer Service during weekends so I can't clarify this until Monday 2.
Well anyways, my kinda desperate question is; will this 2 days """late""" (that was actually and EARLY) payment affect my credit or my account in any way???
Also I saw a few post regarding Toyota Financial Services around here, I will searsh for more. If any of you has experience with them would you care to share your experience?
Thanks everyone in advance.
I will really apprecciate a prompt response.
No this will not affect your credit whatsoever, your payment was made before the due date first and foremost, it just isn't posted to your account until it is processed.
Secondly, it won't adversly affect your credit unless your payment is more than 30 day's late, typically banks/financial institution's have a 10-15 day grace period before late fee's are applied to the account.
You will be fine!
In the future set up auto pay a week before the due date. Gives you time to confirm payment has credited and call someone if you spot an issue. Just my thoughts.
I have years of experience with Toyota Financial Services....and your payment may not post to your account until Monday, but the paid date will be the date that you made the payment. And everyone else is absolutely correct....a payment is not reported as late until it is 30 days late. Good luck to you!
Should be all good, payment was made before due date.
I will second that make sure to auto pay way before the day of or day before due date.
Also to make sure significant funds are available.
Paying day of or day before isnt early in my opinion.
However still counts as on time ![]()
Thanks a lot everyone for helping me out promptly. I'm new to this so I was very worried. Great to know i'm good.
I'm going to set up auto pay. How many days before should I set the payment? Does it matter/affect how early I make the payment?
I dont use auto payment, but doesnt matter how early...you can set it a week or two before.
If you have the funds, set it to asap, that way you are always a month ahead.
