No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I've been looking for a 2nd vehicle for two months now. Scowering over the rates banks and credit unions offer. Though I've found a couple that offer super low rates on used vehicles.
I also found some of them more of a hassle to deal with. Namely AOD FCU. They were great with the credit card app.
But honestly sucked when dealing with them on an auto loan. As always YMMV. My nephew had a better experience with them.
Redstone was way more responsive but also required more hoop jumping than I'm accustomed to. Penfed spoiled me. What can I say.😆
However, Redstone's pre-approvals are a true SP and seem quite solid.
So if the system says your pre approved. You really are. You just need to submit whatever they asked for, to push the loan through.
I narrowed it down to my top three picks.
NFCU, Penfed and USAA.
None of them have the best rates on used vehicles. But they are easy to deal with and the loans are straight forward ( credit pull, you are approved or you are denied). Nothing else, no sending in ID, first born, Pay stubs, DNA or anything else for that matter.
Using the USAA car buying service(won't be offered after Sept. 30th 2020). I noticed I'd get a .50% reduction in rate. Plus opting for autopay awarded another .25%.
This put USAA's used car rates lower than either NFCU or Penfed.
Plus their phone app makes it just too easy. Everything is signed electronically. They pull EX and use FICO 3 scoring model, unless I'm mistaken? Last update their site had me at a 755 in July.
I found the vehicle I was looking for in Dallas, Texas. Caught a plane out there on Friday. Wrote a check for the down payment and left. I was in the dealer's office less than 10 minutes.
Drove my "new to me" ride back home 900 miles.😆
That's one helluva test drive..wouldn't you say!
All in all it has been a great experience dealing with USAA.
Customer service has been fantastic! And the USAA auto loan app, doesn't get any easier. Not the worse rate and not the best at a 3.29% for 72 months. Won't be paying it that long. But I do like the low monthly payments.
Here she is parked in the driveway at home.
Congrats on the approval!! Some nice discounts offered!
Hope you enjoy your new ride @Gmood1!! Even got a mini vacation in the deal!!! 😎 👍🏻
