co signer question

Hello, I made a thread a few weeks ago about financing a car.

I am looking to finance a CHallenger.

I have a job, make extra money through stocks, and have cash assets as well.

I have my own credit cards as well as being an authorized user on my father's cards so my score is high but obviously most of it is NOT my history.

In any case, has anyone had success with being THE cosigner and not the primary? Perhaphs the lender understands you want this to postively impact your credit as well but also that there is someone else with better income who would serve as primary?

While I could have my father finance the loan entirely, I want to be on it but I am not sure if I have a shot as the primary or would be better off (if possible) as the cosigner.

One of my friends said she is the cosigner on her auto loan so I was just wondering if this worked out for other people

Re: co signer question

Me personally I would never co-sign or ask someone to co-sign on an auto loan. If you are able to get credit cards on your own and you have enough income you shouldn't have a problem getting the loan yourself.
