cosigner?

i have some bad marks on my credit, due to fall off in about a year, i have $7k in cc debt and four paid off auto loans in the past 12 years, with only a few lates. my fico is TU 656 AND EX 583. I need to get a new truck, who would be the best to go to FMC,CAP ONE,HSBC? I need to get a lower interest rate so i was thinking is have my wife sign on to lower my rate (she has great credit)  if i do that, can i refinance in 6-12 mos and just get my name on the loan? i dont want her tied to it for the whole time.

Re: cosigner?

Do you belong to a credit union? In my experiences, they will work with you. Having 4 paid auto loans WILL certainly help with them, even w/o a cosigner, considering your overall  DTI. I believe paying down your balances if you do in fact belong to a credit unuion you will be fine.

Re: cosigner?

Older than 7 years- Yes, but not longer than 10 years. All of your auto loans will remain on your credit reports 10 years from the date of last activity.
