where to get an auto loan in your opinion based on my credit situation

Credit is 740 (All) but not much on there 1 credit card that I keep at a 0 balance its for emergencies (Thank God I have not had one) and a few other small things in "Other credit" the credit card has been opened about 2 years ish.

Nothing crazy I Wanted a 30k car, have about 3k to be put down so 10%, Debt to income is great, I make decent $$  about $8950 a month, own my home outright (left to me by my Father) and no current loans.

Where should I go? I dont wanna rack up 100 inquiries, I tried ONE place (Credit union) and they approved me for 30k but the year of the vehicle was 1 year older then they want so I deciced not too.

I was thinking lending tree? they try many banks for what I believe is a soft inquiry? this would be my FIRST auto l oan, as I bought my other vehicles as well as my boats in cash.
