3 years post Chapter 7

Hello!

chapter 7 filed 9/2017

discharged 1/2018

I have been slowly rebuilding. Have 3 unsecured credit cards, 1 personal $5k personal loan with nfcu (paying off this month 5 months early).

I feel like my score is not improving fast enough. All current open accounts are in excellent standing. Even paid off an auto title loan that was not reaffirmed in Bk.

several people have advised me to look into getting discharged accounts removed from my credit reports. I thought there was nothing that could be done about removing a BK or the discharged accounts until time has run its course? I am being told otherwise (Facebook experts lol), and being advised that I can have the discharged accounts removed, although the actual  BK will remain. Please advise on this. Is it worth paying a credit repair company to help improve my credit profile, or should I just let time run its course and allow things to fall off on their own?
thanks!

per experian: current score is 655

credit 1 bank visa (unsecured) $700 limit

NFCU Platinum MC $3400 limit ($400 increase granted last week)

NFCU Cash rewards Visa (opened last month) $7600 limit.

DO NOT pay a "credit repair" company. If your accounts are reporting accurately leave them alone there's nothing to dispute. You filed BK and you have to learn to live with that on your record and you are rebuilding which appears to be going very wellSmiley Happy. FB groups LOL Just keep doing what you are doing, read the boards on rebuilding and ask any questions you have on the forum.

Thank you for your reply!
My gut is telling me to tough it out and keep learning " lesson"....but yes, FB experts are telling me they absolutely can have the discharged accounts removed (they all seem to know a friend of a friend who did it lol) and have my credit rebuild even faster.
Google is telling me to just leave them

Be, allow them to fall off on their own and keep going.

Would you happen to know at what point they might start falling off? I know the Bk itself is 10 years...but do the discharged accounts fall of at the same time or gradually once they hit "x" amount of years?

Ive pulled my reports and yes, everything does appear to be reporting accurately.

Appreciate your insight Smiley Happy

I was able to get rid of about nine of my IIB accounts by disputing them.   There were small errors on each account.   In each case the lender simply didn't respond and the accounts were deleted.   That said, having any IIB accounts will continue to hold your scores down.   My scores took a massive jump when the last IIB accounts were removed through early exclusion.   Oddly I was even able to gett two AMEX accounts and one Chase account removed.   And sometimes accounts do just randomy fall off for no apparent reason. Even if you don't get a score increase for having IIB accounts removed, it still makes you feel good to see fewer and fewer blemishes.   And don't pay a credit repair company.   You can do the same thing yourself and sometimes the way they dispute everything under the moon, it just causes that account to stick like glue to your reports and there is nothing you can do about it.   The BK is likely to stay the whole 10 years (less early exclusion).   Some people just got lucky and had their BK not report to one bureau so they could get approved by lenders that only use that one bureau.   Disputing the BK based on valid errors is still usually fruitless.   The CRA's use Pacer and the BK is easily confirmed.   Good luck.
