I'm sharing this as a data point and also to see if others were able to successfully recon in similar situations.
I have never had a Barclays card before and have waited until 6 months after my discharge to apply, but I received the "We'll let you know in 5-7 days" message. I then used the website's app status and was told that I had been declined.
My Bk7 was finalized at the end of 10/15. I opened Cap1 Platinum ($500) and Cap 1 QS1 ($300) accounts the same month. Six months later, the cards are now at $2500 and $500, respectively. I PIF almost every month, though I occasionally leave a small balance. I also have a credit builder loan that was opened in 11/15 as well as student loans that are current.
Oh well! I had read that Barclays liked at least six months of good history before applying, but maybe I need to give it more time. I will call to recon just in case it makes a difference.
call 866 408 4064 .backdoor number .
most likely they will approve u with 1000$
Good luck on the recon, hope you get an approval. I burned Barclays in my BK7, so I probably won't try for at least 12 months of positive history with my current cards.
Just recon. It's likely you'll be approved. They didn't like my inquiries and they only gave me $250 at about 6 months discharge but the next month I got approved for Apple rewards at $1500. It's my best limit.
Thanks, everyone! I called today and spoke with a very nice CSR, who asked about my reasons for the BK and verified my current salary. I was then approved for a $1000 limit.
Now I will garden for a good long while and continue to take care of the lines of credit I have.
i knew it
Congrats
Congrats to you on your sucessful recon !!! Treat your new lines well !
Excellent, NEVER give up!
5 months out of Ch7. I was planning on waiting until 6 months until applying,
After reading this thread yet again I decide to pull the trigger and apply.
Got a "your application is under review, you will hear within 10 days" message.
Called the recon number, 866 408 4064 (had it at the ready, bad feeling I guess), but was declined.
