I've had a lot change in my life over the past year or so. I ended up filing for CH 7 in August of 2019 due to a bad divorce in 2018. My ex wife just walked away from all of our responsibilites and the marriage. The divorce was cheap, but I got stuck with a lot of debt. After the discharge my scores were all around 580-600. I started working on unsecured cards and after 4 apps, I received 3 cards. I have kept my UTI under 10% most of the months. However in June of 2020, my mother passed away. My current wife and I decided to relocate to my hometown to be close to my dad and help out with anything that may come up. When we sold the house, we were able to pay off a lot of the reaffirmed debt and we are paying cash for the new home thanks to life insurance I inherrited. However, paying off our old home lowered my score about 4 pts, then one of the other accounts being paid off lowered it another 4 pts. I'm now around 684 EQ, 608 TU and 666 EX. I have my 3 cards, with 2 having a $0 balance and one less than 10% balance I carry just to show a balance. I don't have a vehicle loan because paid cash for a truck, however I do have a harley financed through a credit union I was going to pay off with the remaining insurance funds. It shows on my report as a personal loan, not a vehicle loan. I'm also using affirm to make monthly payments that are reporting to my credit, which is also helping. I really don't want to open anything else for a while and just slowly grow my credit, but I would like to know thoughts on a small vehicle loan or anything else that might help to push that TU scorre up.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Well you have a great start with 3 cards and one installment. Without knowing how close you opened all Four, I would recommend you allow for seasoning of at least 6 to 12 months or more before applying for anything else and you will boost your scores. Good job on applying the AZEO strategy.
