Amex

Hopefully someone has experience here, regarding Amex.  If you owe them more than one month, and stop paying( followed by a ch 7), do they come after you for the second month?  Or will both months fall into the 7 as one debt?    Hope that's not confusing, but I'm trying to manage my finances while I wait to see if my job is safe ( or not).   I may find out im losing my income mid or late in the month, and on the other hand it may be just fine.  If I do lose it at that time,  I wouldn't have paid my prior month yet, and would have new charges.  All legit of course

Re: Amex

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking.

I will say, however, that once you start accumulating lates, I wouldn't make any assumption that they will continue approving new charges on the card.

Re: Amex

Sorry.  My question is unclear, but I'm not sure how to ask  it.    What I'm saying is that I may owe them more than one months charges when I find out my income is going to stop.  I would guess both months would be dismissed/discharged  in a 7, but not sure.

Re: Amex

The total balance on a card, at the time of filing BK, would be discharged in a successful Ch 7.

Another Amex lookback question

Has anyone had experience with Amex disputing charges made?   I've always used mine for everything.  And paid of course.    But if my income stops, I'll be burning them for charges made before I know if my income is stopping.   Just don't want to get in a bad situation, but I really do depend on it, since I live on cash flow

Re: Another Amex lookback question

What you're asking is if amex will assume you ran up your card prior to filing bankruptcy in an attempt at fraud, even if that was not the intent?

Re: Another Amex lookback question

The difficulty will be in them trying to prove there was premeditation. They probably won't do anything because of just how difficult it will be to prove.

Re: Another Amex lookback question

Exactly my thoughts.  End of the day, in a no asset case, there's just no point.
