I have had quite a bit of luck with my rebuilding. Just got approved for a Discover It and a Barclays Arrival + card. I decided I wanted to buy a TV from best buy for my new home, and Best Buy had some attractive financing options so I decided to apply. I got declined. I got the decline letter in the mail today and was declined solely for a high number of inquiries.
I have quite a few that are now a year old from buying a card. They dealership submitted my credit to 15 different lenders and that reflects. I shopped around for a mortgage resulting in 2 inquiries, and I had to sign up for internet for my new home as well as Dish, which resulted in two different inquiries.
In my mind, I don't necessarily see stuff like shopping for a good mortgage lender, signing up for internet and tv, and the fact the dealership submitted my loan to 15 different banks as a basis to decline me. I have to 674 credit score on the bureau they pulled, no lates or baddies, almost 0 credit card debt, basically a flawless credit profile since my Ch.7 over 2 years ago.
What do you guys think? Is there any way to go about this as far as Recon?
Or a Walmart card, also from Synchrony.
The Best Buy cards (store or Visa) are issued by Citi bank, not known for being very accomodating with any credit problems. I closed my BB Visa card last fall, had it since 2011 when it was issued by HSBC. It had a $59 AF that I didn't mind when rebuilding, but as it was eating up most of my rewards and I had much better cards I decided I wasn't going to pay it anymore. Citi wouldn't budge, so I told them Close the Account.
