Hi everyone I wanted to share my weird and unbelievable story with capital one lol
I filed for ch7 in december and received my discharge a week ago. I haven't received my papers yet but it shows on all my credit reports. I wanted to rebuild my credit so decided to shop around for a secured credit card. I considered multiple options (Open Sky, Merric, premier...) but also checked capital one's prequalify page even though I didn't think I have any chances (Burnt them 6K in bk). To my surprise I got prequalified for Quick Silver! I couldn't believe it honestly but I was stupid enough to risk the 3hps and apply and I got approved for 3K !!!!!!! The APR is high 26.99% but I couldn't believe they let in again a week after discharge considering the fact that my Venture One 6K was charged off prior to the bk! I'm super happy honestly and still can't believe what happened lol
Thank you very much!
Yep!
CapOne can be very forgiving.
Use it, pay it, grow it.
Congrats!

Congratulations 🎊🎈. Cap 1 still won't let me back in and I'm 7 months post. I burned them for around 6k I believe.
@Anonymous
Congrats on the approval.
If you do some reading here in the forums you will be surprised of how many stories like yours you can find.
CapOne seems to be the most forgiving as far as I can tell. If not THE most.
I was approved the day after my discharged for 3k as well.
It seems to be the rule that CapOne will let you back in as long as your charge off or account included in BK (whichever one was first) is at least a year old. In my case I had 2 charge offs with them like 4 years prior to filling. As much as I refused to file for BK and tried to play catch up, I ended up having to file anyway.
Good luck on your rebuild.

Ditto what @anniea4001 said. Cap1 is VERY forgiving, but one HARD rule they have (as of now) is 12 or more months have passed since charge off or BK filing, based on whichever came first.
Best of luck in your rebuild @Anonymous .
I hope this helps @Honeykissez
Congratulations on the approval! Capital One was my first CC after my ch 7 discharge. They gave me the platinum for $300. 3k is very generous. Nice work.
Congrats and good luck on your rebuild journey!
