Capital One requesting copy of DL and SS card?

Good morning!

I applied with Capital One this morning and got "7-10 days' after using the "prequalifier" application, so I decided to do some recon.

After calling the Account Specialist number on the "Credit Card Back Door" thread, the rep looked at my app and said that they are requestiong a copy of my drivers license and social security card??!! He proceeded to give me a application number, and a fax. I am not so sure about this, but happy that I wasn't denied out of the gate because they were IIB for very small cc amounts.

Any thoughts here??!! Has anyone else had this experience??!!

Pretty standard best practice for them. I experienced the same request following my discharge.

Thank you for your qucik response, KJT! They received my documents, and Rep said it will go through review? Could take up to 3 weeks she said, then if approved, 3-4 weeks for card to be mailed. She couldn't give me a time frame where I could call back to check the status, just in the 3 week time frame.
