@yoyo wrote:As soon as it's discharge your report should update within 30 days or less. My hubby's updated within a week going from "BK filed" to "Bk discharged" ...got approved for three cap one cards 1 week after BK.....My advise is to start rebuilding as soon as possible.
Some people wait until years pass to rebuild after a BK. Your score probably already dropped so go to the Pre-qualify site for Cap1;...use heavy; pay often and they will be good to you.
Enjoy your trip.....
Thank you Yoyo
If you look at my sig at the bottom, You can see what I was approved for today
I posted in the credit card thread. I hope things will be updated by the time we come back. Thanks for the info!

What a great way to start vacation, We are leaving tomorrow night to head to Fl then catching a ship on Sat. I'm so glad this is finally over. SO glad I found this site, now on to the rebuilding!!
How long does it take for scores and stuff to changte in credit reports?
I just put it together with your screen name.... so you filed Ch 7 and are now going on the cruise that you paid for over a year ago.
Thanks for making my morning.
You definitely aren't hesitant to broadcast it... I don't think I could.
Lol TRC, Glad I made someone's morning
Whats the big deal, people have a right to go on vacation don't they ?

They sure do, most just don't do it right after they got done telling the courts they don't have money to pay their bills...
To each their own, I suppose.
That's the point I was trying to make.
Don't take it personally OP... just saying how I roll. I don't think I could tell people I'm going on vacation after I just told the court I couldn't pay my bills... but as said, to each their own.

I totally agree.

Congrats on d/c!
Am I the only one wondering how OP paid for her vacation?
Crusnmore - I see you were discharged this year but already have a venture card. Can you tell me your time frames from discharge to each card and around what your plan has been? Unfortunately my husband and I found this site a bit too late. We were discharged in November 2014 but were too embarressed and thought for sure we were deistitute for years to come credit wise. I found this site by luck one day. I have been following this now for about a month. We have since learned so much! Have gone through our credit reports for accuracy and found our scores are not as bad as we had thought. I am between a 610-653 depending on which credit score I am looking at. After finding this site I did get a Cap 1 Platinum $3000 and a Quick Silver $2000. Wondering how you got the Venture and know it had to do with how quickly you got your first one. Can you please share your rebuild to date? Thank you!
Our vacation was paid for a long time ago and we did not pay for it, it was paid for by someone else if you must know, not like its really any of your business anyway! Seriously people, just because you file chapt 7 doesn't mean you are not allowed a vacation. It just so happens it was at this time in our life, it was planned long before we filed and I was also in a no fault car wreck on May 1st which totaled my car. I like this forum and the great info but the people that are on these boards I must say are some of the rudest people, makes people not even want to be here. And our atty knows we are taking a vacation and he said enjoy!!
