Chapter 13 and car loans

Hello everyone it’s been a whole or since I’ve been on the boards. I have a loan with Bridgecrest and I’m considering Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Will this allow me to keep my car from repossession. I can’t re-fi the car which is a 09 Camry with 150k miles. Thanks in advance for your expertise

Re: Chapter 13 and car loans

Hi OP,

When I filed BK13 my vehicle was protected and payments were made to my lender via the Trustee.  You will probably also get better info regarding this in the Bankruptcy section of the forum.  Good luck to you.

Re: Chapter 13 and car loans

OP      Please get a new/er car before doing a CH13 .  13 BK's last from 3-5 years and your car has alot of miles.

Talk to your attorney about this.   My 13 lasted 5 years.   Trust me your going to need reliable transportation.

BTW ... you can buy a new car and put it in your BK.  Just buy something smart.      good Luck
