Citi Secured CC

I was DC'd from a CH7 in 2019 and a Citi card was included ....

Does anyone know with the Citi Secured CC once you graduate from secured to unsecured is there a possibilty to change the card to a different Citi CC?  I'm looking to try to get one of the travel reward CC's. So I'm wondering if getting a secured card is a path to one.

Do you know if they'll even give a secured card?

A year or so after my Chapter 13 was discharged I researched getting a Citi secured card and found they do eventually graduate, but graduation can take years.  I decided to try anyway just to get back in with Citi; I got a single HP and a denial for my efforts.

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

Re: Citi Secured CC

Citi is one lender I have to cross off my list probably permananently, and that may be the case for the OP as well depending on how bad they were burned.

Re: Citi Secured CC

My BK was discharged 3 years ago. 2 Citi cards were included. Since the discharge, I have gotten 3 credit cards and an auto loan with different financial institutions.

I applied for the Citi secured and they denied me also. I called for reconsideration and they told me with the BK showing, they can't reverse the decision.

Am I permanently blacklisted from Citi?

Odds are good you are blacklisted for a long time.  Permanently?  Not sure anybody can answer that question.

FWIW, my bankruptcy is now off my records, but I'm still blacklisted by Citi.
