@Anonymous wrote:Hello all,
my Chapter 7 BK was discharged on 11/05/14. There's one old paid off account on my credit report that I had for about a year. It's an auto loan from 2008 and I was late about 3-4 times. There are also two catalog accounts that I never used, and they're still showing for paid as agreed but closed. My EQ is 513 as odd last week. I've applied form red it cards but have only been approved for $230 at Fingehut. Maybe I applied too early? The denial letters are showing reasons such as bankruptcy and too many accounts not hat were not paid as agreed. Any thoughts?
You need to clean your reports. Items should read Included In Bankruptcy. Wait for that info to update on your reports.
If you still can't get unsecured credit after that, try the secured route.
Try the BK7 to 700 thread by Soulmaster. I'm sure it's on the first page or so...
Discharged 3/31/2015 and a capital one aproved 4-5-15 with a 618 score...$2000 limit, 24.%, $19 annual charge....Once score improves I will apply
for a lower interest rate card. My score increased from 550 in December 2014 to 618 in 3-31-15. I like the cash basis but need credit card for
car rentals and hotel stays for time to time.
Youre on a good path, but u still need another card or two... maybe try a rebuilder loan for a year or so.. just be sure u dont miss any payments.
I am very new to all of this, but love reading all of the encouraging stories.
My bangruptcy will be discharged at the end of March and Captial One is already sending me pre-approval letters for an un-secured platinum mastercard with guaranteed increase after 5 on time payments. Is this normal to get pre-approval from them before being discharged? Just wondering what the best plan of action is.
Thank you!!
My discharge date should be coming up soon. LIke all of you, looking to build that score back up as soon as possible.
I was going to get a secured card immediately after discharge, but after reading this thread, looks like I might be able to go unsecured.
My question, is probably a dumb one. But how long before I can re-apply with one of the creditors that were included in the BK?
Am I banned for life?
I loved my Capital One card, along with a couple of others. Hoping they'll take me back at some point, but I guess if I was them, I probably wouldnt.
My discharge date was said to be August 22nd, yesterday, and I was wondering should I wait to receive the letter before applying for credit to start rebuilding my score?

You can login to Pacer and check to see if you have been discharged. You are also able to print your d/c paperwork from there as well.
Realize the post is a couple months behind but wondering if Pacer has full list of creditors listed or just the discharge page like I received from my attorney? Thanks in advance for your reply as well as info on Pacer.

Pacer will list your creditor matrix as well.
