Done! My timeline

Good Morning everyone!

Well I got my ch7 Discharge his morning Smiley Happy Wow, just wow! Not even sure how to feel right now, happy for sure but a little apprehensive. Feel like it's like being locked in a box for a really long time and then someone opens the big doors and your just standing there looking out. Anyway, wanted to give my timeline, never wanted to mention it before because I was afraid of jinxing myself, lol. I have been reading everything here since last year though.

So I filed- Ch7 filed on 9/16/15 (pro se, no asset) That was very scary because I know I should have got a lawyer but I was not having very good luck with ones I talk to and they were not very helpful. I wanted to know everything that was happening along the way and know it was getting done. I did research thoroughly, internet, you tube, court website, etc.

Meeting of Creditors was on 10/18/15- my hearing was approximately 3-4 minutes long and no issues AT ALL!! Walked out of there very happy, especially after watching some other cases :/

I did reaffirm my vehicle ( I know, I know some of you are saying ,,,Whhhyyyyyyyy) I live in a rural mountain (extremely snowy place) and i needed my car which is a very good car. I have had it financed through a CU and they have always worked with me. So I negotiated a lower balance with them and they accepted. (also through research found out I could do that) I had two other loans with the CU a CC and personal loan which they have not given me a hard time about or try to attach them to the car

Reaffirmation hearing on 12/18/15- Note this was a phone hearing and the judge was not easy on people at all. If the DTI was off he wouldn't approve, I was approved yay!!

I had initially filed for a payment plan for the fees to the court so my final payment was yesterday, this morning I woke up to an email notification from Pacer that the discharge order was approved YAYYYYYY!!!!! Ok more excited now Smiley Happy

Now the rebuild.......scary

I burned everyone, yes everyone,,,even CAP1 for 1k. All the big dogs, Amex, Chase X3, Citibank, Barclay, and several store cards to include many Synchrony and comenity. So I know this if going to be tough. Now that I'm not jinxing myself, that's my story/time line. My income is decent, 80k and I really have learned a  lot from everyone here, hell I may be able to have a house in a few years. I will check my FICO scores next week and start the rebuild.

Thanks everyone Smiley Happy

Unknown scores as of 1/8/16. Will update next week. My CK (fako) scores are all wrong I know so I wont bother

Re: Done! My timeline

Welcome to the other side of bk- the rebuild. I too was a pro se no asset filer. Nearly lost my mind at the end of the year because my date of objection deadline was 10/30 and it was Thanksgiving and I heard nothing. Finally got a dischare on 12/1. No reaffirmations as I was unemployed. My vehicle had already been repossessed, which is what led me to file. Wish I had of found information for bk sooner. Nevertheless, I am in the rebuild stage.

If you haven't already, definitely check out the "how to" guide by SoulMaster. High praises to him for that. A TON of ppl have followed and had success. I burned Cap 1 for $1100 so I'm blacklisted apparently for awhile. I was recently approved for auto funding through Carvana at 12.33% with $1000 down at 72 mos. Considering what I've been offered a few other places I'm going to take it.

I've read that a secured card from Open Sky is a good way to go if you're unable to get Capital One or NFCU. I was also approved for Credit One yesterday. They had denied me for the past 4 months. So there is definitely hope.

Good luck & happy rebuild!! Robot Happy

I would check out State Department Federal Credit Union for a secured card at 6.99% no credit pull or income verification. Go to the secured card and look at the info from there. Make sure it has not changed, I have a account with them and they are Great !!!!!!  I love this credit union A+++

Re: Done! My timeline

Congrats on your discharge! I also burned most everyone, but Cap1 let us back in about 4 months post discharge, and Barclay's a year after filing. I started with an OpenSky secured card. Only a $200 starting deposit and a $29 annual fee. Try to stay away from CreditOne if you can. The main thing to remember is patience. Things will get better and can get better quickly, but only if you are smart about how you go about things. Good luck to you!

Re: Done! My timeline

It all seems so overwhelming. But I will sit tight and see. It seems scores are generally pretty low initially after discharge. I'm alittle afraid to check because I don't want to be discouraged but I can look at it as excitement to watch them grow. I have installment loans (student loans) already on my report so I'm hoping that will help a little. Maybe some cc will have mercy on me Smiley Happy The only thing that refuses to update on my CR is Macy's. I faxed and mailed a copy of my BK but maybe with the discharge they'll update. I'll keep pushing right out the gate though. Also some show included in BK, zero balance but open, not closed. Will that change with the discharge does everyone now start reporting something else?
