Guys/gals,
i received my chapter 7 discharge on July 12, 2019. I let my CR update and once my opensky cc started reporting went from mid 500s to 609 today when i checked experian. Equifax is reporting 639 and TU is reporting 569.
my current items are:
3 student loans are still reporting, on all three CR.
1 installment loan for a no credit check loan for my sons puppy which reports to TU only.
1 credit builder loan reporting to all three CR.
1 opensky secured cc with a $200 limit
i just got approved for a Credit One cc w/ $300 limit
i have an overstock cc pending application.
my question is with the overstock card pending and crossing fingers approved would i qualify for the fico bonus? Or does the 3rd cc have to be a non store card. Im also assuming once i receive the 3rd card i should let it garden for at least 6 months.
Any advice or opinions on my plan? Just want to get on the right track and not sway off of it.
Welcome to the forums. Pretty good start. Actually you only need 1 installment loan and your student loans cover that area. But it does help to show responsible payment history either way. Once they are paid off (except student loans) you wont need another loan. 3 revolving credit card accounts is the magic number also. So your set for now. I believe those might be credit karma scores or Vantage and they dont mean anything actually. You can grab your 3 FICO scores at Experian for $1 and then cancel before the trial ends and still get a monthly EX FICO score. https://www.experian.com/consumer-products/free-credit-report-a.html?pc=dir_exp_0
Your correct waiting 6 months min. If you can tell us who got burned. We can help you out on your next move when the time comes.
Same as above. If you get OS's credit card. Hold out for a year and then you can start hitting up Cap1's pre-qual. Although you just took 3 hits to your file for new accounts and your AAoA dropped also. Let those 3 accounts age some. Theres no rush. More credit doesn't mean higher scores. Its a slow ride but it goes by fast.
