Hi everyone,
We filed chapter 13 BK on 4/10/2020. MOC is 6/4/2020. I have an AMEX business card that, as far as I understand it, is just an authorized user card. The card is under my name and I sign with my signature when I use it for business purposes. I've had it for well over a year and it's never reflected on my credit reports. I didn't fill in an application for it. It's not included in my bankruptcy. However, I am concerned "somehow" this card will be black listed or canceled as a result of the BK. Is that a thing? Do I need to alert my employer? For what it's worth, I did not have my own AMEX cards so they were not burned in the BK filing. My only relationship with AMEX has been this employer card. Thank you for your help.
I had a corporate AmEx that I didn't include in my Ch13, my employer paid it in full every month without question....low and behold AmEx closed it and sent a petition to include it in the Ch13 plan....I called HR explained the situation - they ordered a new card, I haven't had an issue since
I have seen it go both ways.
You did not burn them, so you may be ok.
DON'T WORK FOR CREDIT CARDS ... MAKE CREDIT CARDS WORK FOR YOU!
Wanted to come back with an update.
Today I had a reason to use my business AMEX card and lo and behold, it works. So (cross fingers) it looks like my BK did not affect the business card after all.
I figured I would update the post in case anyone has a similar question in the future.
