I use USAA for much of my banking.
I have a joint cc with my ex through USAA. He has been paying on it and its about 2k.
I also have a new secured CC (yes I got it before I joined here) with a $0 balance
I also have my checking account and savings from them..as well as insurance.
I want the joing acct to go away in the BK... I want the rest to stay...
Not sure how USAA will feel.. but if they take away my secured card (which I had to pay them $300 for.. I would REALLY sad.. and I also wonder if they would give me the $300 back)

My ex and I used to bank, had CCs, two car loans, insurance, through USAA. We found out pretty quickly they're absolutely NOT bankruptcy friendly in the least.
Our BK attorney told us USAA is one of the more aggressive creditors to have (this is a military town, he's dealt with them a lot) and he always tells people coming into his office to separate as much as possible from USAA if you're filing BK w/n the next six months or so.
My ex had to give up his car in the BK. He asked USAA about reaffirming the loan so he could keep it and they wanted the total balance due. When he tried to talk to them about re-financing it in order to keep it, they flat out refused to either do it themselves or give him time to find another financier.
USAA is great if you're perfect and BK-free. The instant you have BK, they get pretty ugly.
Exactly! I didn;t file against them but they still were pretty ugly towards me about anything and everything. Even though I didn;t against them, I still took my banking and everything elsewhere.
