I think I’m doing this right??

My chapter 7 was discharged on 6/6/18. I burned pretty much everyone:
Chase x3 cards
Citi
Amex x2
Capitol 1 x2
Discover
Macy’s
Target
PayPay Credit

I received an offer from Capital 1 before I even had my discharge notice. I took a chance and applied and was offered $2000 CL with increase review in 5 months. I recently joined Navy Federal and now have a $500 pledge loan and I used those proceeds to obtain a $500 secured credit card with them. They denied me for unsecured. My mortgage, also with Chase, was IIB and is in the trial period for a modification. It no longer reports and will never report unless I reaffirm. I’m not going to. My car, also with Chase, does not report and sadly was never delinquent so having that report would be nice but I’m not going to reaffirm it either.

What’s next? Time to garden?

You have a nice head start on your rebuild! Congrats on your success thus far.

I would definitely let Cap1 report for 3 months or so and then start with pre-quals.

Good luck!

That's a nice SL for the Capital One card, congrats! I agree with the poster above, wait a few months before applying for anything new since you already have 2 cards. Ideally, you can try the prequal and apply for a second Capital One card at the 6-month mark after getting your first card.

I would check every month for Discover and Merrick bank prequal and then Capital One again after 6 months from now.

Rebuild started in 2014  -  $100k unsecured credit in 2017  -  $500k unsecured credit in 2024.
