In a chapter 13, have questions.

Hi

3 years ago My hubbies and I got in over our heads in credit card debt.  We filed a chapter a 13, and are paying our creditors off 100% . When we filed we owed 44,100. Today three years later we've paid back 30,125.00 and only owe  $13,975.00 which we plan to pay off a year early, so we will be done in 10 months. Is it possible to start rebuilding now, and how do we go about it. We don't ever want to go through this again. We started savings accounts and cash for everything now. I know we can't get credit cards now but what else can we do to rebuild. Any suggestions, tips, recommendations or words of helpful wisdom are much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Re: In a chapter 13, have questions.

I think your biggest obstacle is getting trustee approval.

I would try to get approval to open one credit builder loan for $500 for 48 months, take the $500 they give you back (of your own money) and open a $200 OpenSky Visa (no credit check) and a State Dept FCU secured card for $300.
