Happy to report that 6 months later both my NFCU secured cards, visa and mc, graduated today. 2000$ credit limits.
I opened the visa first, 2-13 then the mc the next week. I only did 200$ each as I was hoping they would graduate. I had 6 statements post on one and 7 on the other but both accounts are 6 months old now. I was disappointed yesterday when my statements posted and they were the same, checked again today and see both limits are now 2000$.
My total mix is this,
mortgage reaffirmed
auto reaffirmed
ikea visa 550$ limit, I let this on post about 1%
nfcu visa, post 0
nfcu mc, post 0
No lates before filing.

666 TransUnion, my reaffirmed mortgage was sold and they're only reporting the new one just now, hope it catches up.
Every other FICO model is in the 700's. Unbelievable. I don't pay attention to vantage.
I'm very surprised and at my scores at just 8 months post chapter 7 discharge. I was average 640 when I filed. All I want is another mortgage someday. I'm already high enough for FHA just need to do my time. Even though they say 580 is the lowest, many lenders requires 640, especially now w Covid.
Paying extra on my car loan is shaving off 2 years. At 6% it's smart to do but I bet my score will drop, hope it will recover w just 3 cards and a mortgage. If I'm doing this right that's the minimum I need to not be a thin file.
I also added both my adult children as authorized users to my nfcu cards, comenity doesn't report AU's. I figured why not and it's helping them as their files were thin. Stuck the cards in a drawer.
So glad I filed bankruptcy, ex really did a number on our finances. I got the fresh start I needed and life is good again. Wish I did it 2 years earlier.
Thanks for all the input. I did everything y'all said to do and it works!
Congratulations on your graduations!!
580 for FHA is with 20% down. To get the 3.5% down, you need to be over 620 I believe. Maybe it was 640 I dont remember. But we just closed in Feb of this year with an open 13. It was a daunting process, but there was no need to wait. If you have the cash, get the process going.
Grats on graduation!
Congrats on the graduation!
