I was recently discharged from chap 7 (09/11/2015). I applied for a Victorias Secret card and they approved me for $350. Tried Capital One and they denied me
. I did have a Capital One before my BK which I really wanted to keep. As soon as they were notified about the BK they closed my account which had a $686 balance. Should I try and get them to reconsider or should I just wait for a few months. Thanks!
What was your score when you were approved for VS, if you don't mind me asking?

I was just approved yesterday and it is a 593 on TU and 595 on EQ.
Mine aren't that high yet per credit check total they range from 530-548 so I won't be applying for anything just quite yet.

Congrats on your discharge.
Give Capital One some months, you just burned them in your bk. They are the most bk friendly lender I know when giving credit again when someone has burned them in their bk. It took me literally 4 months to get back in with them. Please don't go crazy getting the Comenity backed store cards as well, they only report when you use them, if you are not going to use the card I would suggest that you don't apply for the card. I know this too well, I regret opening so many cards with them. You may have to go the secured route with your local credit union.
Congrats on your journey so far. Give Cap1 some time. Check their prequal page every couple of weeks. When it says you are prequalified, then go for it. They have been extremely good to us.Take your time and be patient.
Yes, I'm not really looking to fill my wallet with credit cards. I just want to have a credit card that I can use and PIF every month. I definitely want to re-establish my credit but without going knee-deep in credit. Thanks for the advice!
