That is well past the 180 post file date, so the inheritance is yours. Im not sure what state you live in, and just to err on the side of caution, Id place a quick call to your BK attorney just to make sure, but sounds like you're in the clear.

There is nothing the the bk Code that supports the above (although checking with with OP's attny is a good idea). 

OP filed a Chapter 7 and the relative passed more than 6 months post filing. 11 USC 541(a)(5) controls if the right to the inheritance is property of the bk estate.

I agree with you but it just depends on the trustee, I agree with such a long gap it would be difficult for the trustee to prove their arguement but they could try to argue it nontheless
