@Anonymous wrote:haha I was wondering that myself, I might ask my attorney. It's a chain furniture store, More Furniture and I guess the items we bought are securing the loan. It's a bed, mattress and dresser. We have pet pigs, who have scratched the paint off the bed by them scratching against it, and really what are they going to do with a used bed/mattress etc... like seriously. I think I want to see my signature on something saying it was secured by it, since I don't remember signing anything other than the sheet to deliver my stuff.
It's in the fine print somewhere, retail store credit is secured by the items you purchase. Visa, MC, etc. are unsecured, but store credit is. For example, with a Walmart card they're not going to try to repo food you buy, but if you bought a TV they can & might repo that. I had a BK7 in the 90s and Sears threatened to repo the tires I had bought on the card. I called their bluff & didn't reaffirm and they didn't come for the tires.
I would NOT reaffirm that debt just for a bed & dresser. It's 50/50 they would try to repo it if you don't reaffirm, especially if you tell them your pet pigs have damaged it, and for fun you might add that with regards to the mattress you or your partner have bladder control issues.
That would probably take the repo chances well under 50/50.
Haha thanks. My pigs seem to get me out of a lot of trouble. Just the other day Pam ate a charging cable and we couldn't find one online so we had to call the company and they were like "we always get my dog ate it, or the cat, but never a pig!" so they are sending us a replacement for free. Saving me $18.00! ![]()
I think i'll call their bluff. Besides the pigs, I don't really know who wants to drive to our meth city anyway which is in the middle of nowhere Oregon. The hubby and I made a bet with the attorney the CU that tied his $500 Subaru in with a 35k personal loan as collateral will just abandon interest and never pick that up either.

yep...lost 2 yrs of perfect payment history when I didnt reaffirm (per my attorney advice), but continued to make payments. They deleted the entire trade line even while I continued to make the timely payments.
