Roundpoint Mortgage

So our mortgage was discharged in our chapter 7 on January 22nd of this year. We didn't pay our payment for December or January due to my job loss. We have since been making our payments on time. We get collection notices from Roundpoint every month saying that we are 2 months behind and that they are going to foreclose. Has anyone had a situation similar to this? Since I am making payments every mo th are they really likely to foreclose.

Re: Roundpoint Mortgage

I haven't had that problem with mortgage (never had one) but I did have it with a car.  With car lenders, sometimes they let you skip a payment and add it onto the end of the loan.  Can you call your mortgage company and see if they'd be willing to do that?

Because, technically, you *are* 60 days late.. you're account is in arrears and you'd have to pay those two months to catch it up.   But I didn't know they foreclose on homes so soon, I thought it took much longer Smiley Sad

Are you planning to stay in the house? Speak to your attorney. As pointed out by the previous poster you will need to catch up to keep your home. Yes, the lender can start foreclosure when you are past due.
