Should I start using a different bank?

My main bank (credit union) is DCU. I've been with them for about 7 years. Currently have a credit card with a $5K limit (zero balance) and an auto loan. I plan to either reaffirm the loan or just keep paying on it after the BK is discharged. Actually, I'm going to keep paying on it straight through. I've read some things that said a person should use a different bank if they their current one will have accounts IIB. How about in this case? I prefer not to but I will if it's benefical.

I would keep my cash at another bank until after the BK is discharged.    Some credit unions have cross-collateralization agreements and can seize other assets (e.g., cash) to satisfy a debt owed them.   You have nothing to lose by keeping your money elsewhere for a few months.   Be sure to ask DCU if you keep paying without reaffirming if they will allow you to keep the car.   Some lenders won't and repo it.    Most attorneys advise against reaffirmation agreements.   The choice is up to you though.
