I did have oen bankruptcy that did get dismissed. I was because I got caught in a snowstorm & ahd missed my court hearing. A dismissed bankruptcy (any chapter) will stay on the report for 10 years. A chapter 7 that is discharged, which means you made all monthly paymenst on tiem & paid in full, will stay on your credit report for 7 years. On any bankruptcy the creditor has until the finalized date or close date on the bankruptcy to report any changes to the credit report. In other words once the bk is finalized any creditor involved in the bankruptcy can not do any updates to your credit report. The date of last activity on any account included in the abnkruptcy is when the filing date of the bankruptcy took place. Then the account atatched to the bankruptcy will stay on the reprot only for 7 years.
