AMEX Employee Cards

Hello All -

I was just trying to activate a Business Green Amex for my employee and noticed that my employee's date of birth and social security number needs to be inputed in order to complete the activation of the card Smiley Surprised

I'm not sure why the ssn is required but maybe I can get some answers here. Is there going to be a credit check? Does the card show up on my employee's credit report? Do employees share some responsibilty if they default on the card payment?

TIA

All true but Amex will check their files to see if the AU has burned them in the past.  They may/will refuse to give an AU a card if they have in the recent past.  That’s why they want the SSN and DOB

True, but Biz cards are different, I have an employee who burned amex (They told me before I put them on) and they have my BRG card.  I guess YMMV.  It's seems or I guess business cards users are not classified as AUs as in the personal card sense.  Maybe because they know employees travel and make business purchases on behalf of the business.

Re: AMEX Employee Cards

Im in the same situation right now, I want to issue my wife a employee card but she burned amex back in 2010 and has not been able to get approved for a personal amex ever since then.   Am putting my account under scrutiny if I was to add her to the business account?       She does work for the company.       Can some shed more light unto this matter?  Thanks
