Can anyone explain the difference between an Employee Business Gold Card and Employee Business Expense Card? Is Amex charging you $50 just to get a better looking card?
I can't find any explanation on the Amex site. This Gold card doesn't really have benefits like Platinum that extend to AUs if you pay the fee, so I'm trying to understand the difference. Thx.
The employee business expense card lets YOU control the spending habits on the card. For example, you can preset a limit on how much the card can be used for and after that, charges are declined.
The $50 Business Gold gives them all the benefits of a Gold Card and the ability to charge and access to the POT limit is equal to your own card

But you can set a spending limit on the employee Business Gold cards too. Also, this card doesn't really have benefits like Platinum that offers lounge access, elite status, etc. Not sure why Amex doesn't show the difference between the 2 employee cards. They do explain the difference between the Platinum AU and free Companion card.
