Took the next step on my quest to earn the signup bonus on every American Airlines card, haha: instant approval for CITI Business AAdvantage Platinum Select with a CL of $10,400; signup bonus 65,000 AA miles after $4k spend in 4 months. Don't have a huge amount of spend coming up, so I'm grateful for the extra month to make the minimum spend. $99 annual fee, waived for the first year.
I'm accumulating AA miles solely for international partner business class travel; I haven't actually flown American for something like 30 years.
Note that I applied for this card a few years ago and was declined; that's before I knew about the five year minimum age of credit apparently needed for this card. Technically I'll be five years at the end of March, but I figured I was close enough, and I was right!
Also, my business is real (sole proprietor), textbook sales and private teaching; I was honest about my business income on the application, only about $8k yearly.
Sweet, enjoy it
Very nice, Congrats on your approval!!
WooHoo!! Congratulations on your Citi AA Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂
Congratulations on your approval.
I do have a quick question - When you say it requires a "5 year minimum age of credit" do you mean the average age of all accounts or strictly the age of your oldest account?
As I've always understood it (I first saw this on r/Churning subReddit), it's 5 years from the opening of your oldest account.
