I have a few questions. Thank you in advance for looking. I appreciate your invaluable advice.
I am getting ready to open my own business. Do I need to.incorporate it? Is that the only way to get lines of credit extended to you. I am asking because I just filed for a business license not really thinking it through and I filled as a sole proprietor. Was that wrong?
My fiance and I will be in the business of glass blowing and I am not sure which business structure to do. It would just be us two owning the business and perhaps a family friend later down the line should he choose to invest.
We would be doing all our business online.
Please guide me, thank you!
No you did nothing wrong it boils down to how you want to be structured as a company to shield yourself against any possible claims/lawsuits should you need to.
Corps give you a higher form of security whereas sole proprietor gives you almost no protection against your personal assets
I've been a sole proprietor for over 25 years, and I've never had any desire to incorporate.
