Questions about my new net30 accounts

Hey there ladies and gents. I've established a new corp in florida, and have began my venture of building some business credit. I decided to follow most recommended practices by establishing a few net30 accounts, allowing them to report in order to auto generate my DUNS.

I've opened an account with Quill, Uline, UPS and FedEx office.

I've successfully placed and confirmed an order with Quill, Uline, and UPS. As in, orders have shipped, and have printed a label from UPS. One thing i will note with all three of these companies is that non of them requested my EIN. Ofcourse, i didnt make a silly and sign up for a personal account, nor did i sign for a personal guarentee. They simply did not ask for an EIN.

As far as FedEx, the office account did however ask for my EIN, however a fedex office account is sort of useless to me. I would like a regular shipping account on net30 terms, however when i apped for one it requested CC information. Im not sure if you have to wait to request net30 terms or if there is a seperate application somewhere.

Im trying for a fifth because i really want to get to producing a paydex score so i can move on, but it seems like its getting hard to find that fifth. I would say interstate batteries but it seems either the site is broken for creating an account or they are not taking apps.

So my biggest questions are .. how much time should i have to wait for these net30's to report? how is it they are going to report with no EIN? and, can anyone confirm if UPS/FedEx even report anymore because there are a lot of posts claiming they do not.

Any other advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Questions about my new net30 accounts

I had the same issue when I applied for my Quill account a couple months ago and I emailed them and made sure they added my EIN to my account. They called me, I talked to a representative and they told me they already found me, I still gave them my EIN but they somehow knew it already.

I was later told that a lot of companies do not need your EIN they will go off of your business name and address but I still called to make sure they had my EIN since I wanted to build business credit. I didn't use Uline, UPS, or FedEx but I got a net 30 with staples (they did ask for my EIN) and a credit account with Office Depot (they also asked). Try Staples if there is one in your area, they have mailing services and gave me a net 30 and I had very little to no business credit file at the time, but all of my online information is up to date and I think that helped them verify my company.

I was also told it takes a few months before you start seeing Net 30s report. Also I'm sure you could call (if you don't mind spending some time on hold) and ask the companies who they report to and when.

Re: Questions about my new net30 accounts

Thanks for the reply.

I apped with Staples and OfficeDepot. Seems like the net30 is through citibank. I got an instant review, and they got two calls the next day saying they would need a personal guarantor. Ofcourse i declined and went about my way.

I will call Quill and ULine tomorrow and see how far i can get with getting me EIN attached to the account. Something else to note is that my full company name is a bit lengthy, and some times i have to abbreviate to fit a text field. Hopefully everything ends up reporting in the same place, all other information matches exactly. Address, phone number, email addresses etc.

Well any how, i think im on the hunt for 3 more easy-to-get net30's considering it seems like the word on the street is that fedex and UPS do not report.

Thanks again for any other input.

I'd suggest Grainger.  Create a profile online, then call them once you get your account number established and ask if they can add a Net30 account.
