Totally bizarre. My wife applied for the AAA Daily Advantage card at the end of August. She was at 0/12 inquiries on Equifax. She got the 7-10 day notice and the letter came today: denied due to the number of recent inquiries. Not sure how you get any lower than zero, but okay.
Is there a recon line she could call? If so, any experience as to whether it's worth it or will it just be a straight up no?

They may be referring to total inq's ?/24.
Keep in mind the reason given is not always the complete picture of a denial.
A few of the most likely culprits:
Escalating debt (too many inquiries/accounts opened in the last two years), too many accounts with balances, high(er) utilization, carrying/shuffling balances(bt's).
We all get denied once in a while.Chin up. ![]()
That's disheartening. Did the letter specify they pulled EQ? What was she /24? How many new accounts in the last 12/24?

They pulled Equifax. She was at 0/12 inq and 0/12 new accounts. She is 3/24 and 3/24. Oldest account (ironically it's a Comenity card) is 6 years old. She has almost 100k of available credit, her util is <1%, and her FICO 8 score is 795. Honestly, if they are that nuts and won't give her a card with those numbers, I'm not sure I want to do business with them at this point.

There is no reconsideration with Comenity. Just re-apply in 30+ days.
