So, I was on a high when I requested and was approved for my AmEx 3x CLI and I made a calculated mistake and requested my first CLI with Discover. I recall reading they are a wild card and you never know how the dice will roll with them. I originally thought I'd wait until after 6 months to give myself a better chance, but that AmEx approval had me up in the clouds and ignoring reason and logic.
Lady Disco denied my request for "Insufficient experience with current Discover Credit Limit", so I will giver her another 3 months of work and try again. Yes, my balloon was popped, but I can't say I didn't know it would have been better to wait until after 6 months. Lesson learned Discover, lesson learned ![]()
🙃😁😆
Congrats with Amex but sorry about Discover for now.!

Thank you. I knew better, but didn't listen to my good sense ![]()
Thanks @SUPERSQUID It kind of made me feel like the episode of Fresh Prince when he's in the college bookstore and the cash register starts screaming "bad check bad check" real loud after he hands over his check to pay; so embarrassing and very small. Good thing I have a sense of humor about these things and know how to move on or I'd be on the couch with a gallon of ice cream drowning my sorrows ![]()

We all get an itch at times especially when reading through these boards. It happen to the best of us. Atleast it was not a HP! 👍

Dont get down about it, its part of the credit game. you have to venture to gain, sometimes they say no. we are all in that boat sometimes. ice cream is fabulous but if i eat it i blow up like the goodyear blimp.

Disco cli are few and far between especially since Covid. They aren't as plentiful as they once were, even then nothing you could really time. Imo there really is not much difference in waiting 3 or 6 months to request a cli. You could spend a billion and still get nothing or spend $10 and get an increase lol. Since it's sp anywa and the only damage one gets being denied is a paper letter denial, you can request anytime, if months intervals are your cup of tea you could do that ![]()
@AverageJoesCredit Thank you. I have seen on the boards that it can be difficult with them, so I'm going to see if I can court them a little and reallocate some of what I normally put on the BCP and see if it will make a difference. I'm usually doing about $1500 on BCP and only about $500 on lady Disco, so I'll see what happens if I give her more action for a few months. I'll try again after the August statement closes.
@Credit4Growth THAT PART about it not being a HP! But if it was, I'd never have risked it!
