Comenity Banks computers get crazy also when it comes to fraud alerts
If you have a FA, always make sure your contact phone number is current
Personally, I prefer freezing credit reports -vs- fraud alerts.

Next time I believe that I will just freeze them instead of doing the fraud alert. I was able to initiate the fraud alert online, but it looked like I had to mail something in order to lift it. I did look at lifting the fraud alert so that I could get instant approvals on the cards I apped, but I didn't even think about it causing a hard inquiry for AMEX. Since (it looked like) I had to mail something in, I just went for the apps anyway and figured I'd just verify myself when they asked.

Make sure to contact all 3 bureaus. Once a FA is placed on one report, they automatically notify the other two.
