Well that doesn't seem fair at all!
I wonder what happens if I app for 2nd Sallie Mae & Upromise at the same time.
Do it and let us know.
From experience, if you don't get a 2nd auto approved they will deny duplicate cards during recon.
Has anyone seen Barclays pull anything besides TU for a Sallie Mae app?
I'm getting my CR and score all tweaked for an app for a second Sallie Mae. It's been
8 months since my last app, which was my first Sallie Mae. All my reports are
currently frozen. I should be safe just thawing TU for the app? I think other than
Barclays trying to pull a frozen report, I should be reasonably good to go for an
instant approval. The only other issue I could see is maybe I have too much
exposure with Barclays, my first Sallie Mae has a CL of $18.8K, potential problem ?

I'd be real surprised if you didn't get an instant approval.

In my case, they give you the first card you apply for (Sallie Mae) with a 740 TU, and the second one (Upromise) they will contact you within 10 days with an update...
10 days later, they then pulled another credit report (EQ 749 !) and they denied me. I forget the exact wording but it was basically because it was too soon after obtaining my last Barclay card. Which they could tell without pulling a credit report...
